I Get My Power Port Today….

July 8th, 2015 (Wednesday): After much deliberation, I finally decided to have the Clear Vue Power Port fitted in the upper right portion of my chest/shoulder. I am very happy that I decided to have this done. Most chemotherapy patients go through a series of blood draws and chemo drips that includes many needles. This process can become a bruising painful event each time, especially if they can’t find a good enough vein or the vein that is perfect begins to have scar tissue from being used to much.

The power port rocks! The nurse swabs it with alcohol and tells you to hold your breath, and its done. The pain is less than getting a blood draw and there is no mistakes, no bruising and no searching for adequate vein to use.

I have been told by my friends that because I have a port, I am now considered an alien from Area 51.

So after I get my Power Port, I am off to get my new Cut, Style and Color and then to my favorite Mexican food restaurant…. yeah me!!!
